My client is seeking a candidate who has experience with scripting language and SQL Developer as well as writing P4 codes using the Phoebus system.
Overall Responsibilities
Work with business units, clients, software partners, vendors and others to provide clients and employees with reliable and efficient servicing systems.
Design, develop, test, maintain and support software systems that meet clients' and employees' business requirements in accordance with the company service level agreements.
To ensure the company maintains its leading edge technologies in the UK RMBS and CMBS marketplaces.
General Tasks / Principal Accountabilities:
*Design, develop, unit test, maintain and support software that meets business requirements, both stand-alone applications and applications to be integrated with existing software solutions.
*Undertake a pro-active approach to requirements identification, resolution and delivery.
*Proactively research ways to improve and develop systems; identify and recommend enhancements for the company, its partners and its clients, to retain the company's leading edge Information Technology.
*Provide technical training and mentoring to other team members
Specific Tasks and Accountabilities
*Design lead for the Phoebus system.
*Design, develop, unit/system test, maintain and support Phoebus enhancements using the P4 language.
*Provide Phoebus technical training and mentoring to other team members.
*Provide second line support for Phoebus application issues.
*Provide simple support tasks for the company's JBoss / Spring / Java applications when the Java/J2EE Developer is unavailable.
*Support the Business Process Re-engineering team during the requirements definition phase.
*Support the System Test team during the system test phase.
*Support the UAT team during the user acceptance test phase.
*Supervise all P4 developments provided by external suppliers (e.g. Phoebus Software Ltd).
*Assist all members of the Technology Services management team in their duties when required and provide alternative cover as and when requested.
Decision Making
*Advise on and oversee all other developments done on the Phoebus system by staff.
*Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of allocated IT tasks.
*Liaise with relevant software providers.
*Report to management on issues as they arise in a proactive, professional manner, making recommendations on solutions where appropriate.
Knowledge, Skills and Characteristics Required
*Computer science degree or equivalent with some commercial experience (if no degree then must have substantial commercial experience).
*Excellent understanding of P4/ Scripting Languages
*Excellent understanding of XML/XFO.
*Excellent understanding of RDBMS (preferably Oracle) and SQL
*High level understanding of the structure of applications deployed using the following technologies: Java, JBoss (or other middleware architectures), Spring, ANT, Windows Server 2003, Subversion.
*Experience of software development methodologies (SSADM, RAD, Agile)
*Ability to understand and further define business systems operational & development requirements.
*Effective verbal & written communication skills.
*Rational thinker with a pro-active approach to issue management.
*Efficient time management, ability to adhere to deadlines, effective communication and reporting.
